A Certain Kind of Loneliness: A Poem
There’s a certain kind of loneliness
that settles inside
it hides
behind shining blue eyes
There’s a certain kind of loneliness
that no one can see
you pretend
you appear to be happy
There’s a certain kind of loneliness
that goes unobserved
Insecurities grow
attention feels undeserved
There’s a certain kind of loneliness
that makes a soul ache
your grip tightens
but you bend until you break
I know a certain kind of loneliness
